FAQ

Flexstone® Label Stock — frequently asked questions

Q1What widths and thicknesses does Flexstone® Label Stock come in?

According to specification sheet NMEQS-MACO 295, Flexstone® Label Stock is supplied in roll widths of 210, 310, 410 and 510 mm for web printing. There are four grades: FS-K15-PSA-80G and FS-K15-WRA-80G with a 0.15 mm face and 0.23 mm total thickness at 250±25 g/m², and FS-K20-PSA-80G and FS-K20-WRA-80G with a 0.20 mm face and 0.28 mm total thickness at 300±30 g/m².

Q2Which printing processes are suitable for Flexstone® Label Stock?

Flexstone® Label Stock has a one-side K coating with a gloss of 9–12 and is listed for offset, flexographic and UV printing on roll-to-roll label presses. Whiteness is ≥82 (wb) and opacity is ≥90%. For HP Indigo or toner label printing, use the I-coated adhesive grades instead, FG-I15-PSA and FG-I20-PSA (NMEQS-MACO 298), which are supplied as sheets.

Q3Should I choose permanent or removable Flexstone® Label Stock?

Choose the permanent PSA grades for labels that must stay on for the life of the product, such as cosmetic, food and beverage, logistics, industrial and wine labels. Choose the water-based removable WRA grades for promotional stickers, temporary notices and replaceable shelf labels. Both adhesives hold 0.5 kg on a 25 × 25 mm area for 24 hours without slide; test removal on the actual surface before a full run.

Q4How does Flexstone® Label Stock compare with coated paper labels?

Coated paper labels print well but tear easily and disintegrate when wet. Flexstone® Label Stock is fully waterproof and has high tear resistance, so labels stay intact and legible in chilled, wet and frequently handled environments. It is made from calcium carbonate and resin rather than wood pulp, with no trees and no process water used in production. Its base colour is warm white and can be customised.
