Monadnock Paper Mills Inc. is highlighting its Un-Plastic portfolio.

Monadnock Paper Mills Inc., Bennington, New Hampshire, is highlighting its Un-Plastic portfolio of performance papers designed for applications throughout the grocery store environment, the company says, as retailers invest in the physical store experience and seek more responsible material choices.

The portfolio includes fiber-based alternatives to plastic, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and styrene materials for signage, displays, wall graphics, shelf communication, tags, illuminated promotions and customer card programs.

Across the store, each application calls for a different balance of print quality, durability, rigidity, opacity and end-of-life considerations, Monadnock says.

Signage, displays and store graphics include Ultrahide PC 100 Blockout Poster, which is designed for window signs, hanging graphics, aisle talkers, directional signage, endcaps and other indoor promotions where opacity and visual impact are essential; ENVIsual Board that provides a rigid printing surface for point-of-purchase displays, menu boards, department signage, endcaps and other freestanding or mounted graphics; Envi Wallgraphics, which supports branded interiors, seasonal promotions and wayfinding throughout produce, bakery, deli, pharmacy and other store departments; and Ultraform Backlit Poster that is engineered for lightboxes, illuminated promotional panels and other backlit graphics used throughout the store.

Shelf and product communication include Envi Durable Tag, a water-resistant wood-fiber material for produce and floral tags, channel strips, shelf talkers, wraps, labels and signage used in grocery, garden center and outdoor retail environments; and Compostable Card, a durable engineered board suited for bakery closures, select signage and certain gift and loyalty card applications.

Gift, loyalty and customer programs include Envi Card, which supports gift, loyalty, reward, membership and pharmacy card programs requiring a versatile paper-based card stock; and Renovo, a high-performance paper card designed to deliver the thickness, rigidity and durability required for gift, loyalty and membership programs.

Monadnock says the portfolio reflects the demands of a retail environment where the physical store remains central and communications change constantly.

According to FMI—The Food Industry Association’s U.S. Grocery Shopper Trends 2026 report, 54 percent of grocery shoppers always shop in-store at their primary store, while 69 percent value an easy shopping experience and want aisles and departments to be easy to find.

“The grocery store is a highly visual, fast-moving environment, and no single substrate can meet every need,” says Julie Brannen, director of sales and sustainable solutions at Monadnock Paper Mills. “Our portfolio gives grocery teams flexible, high-performing sustainable options for different areas of the store, helping them support the customer experience while making more responsible material choices.”

Monadnock says its customizable, fiber-based materials help retailers and their print partners respond to changes grocery environments have with different specials, products and seasons while matching each application with the performance, production and environmental attributes it requires.

Monadnock says its products are produced using environmentally responsible manufacturing practices. The company holds an EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating, sources FSC-certified fiber and manufactures its papers using Green-e-certified renewable, wind-powered electricity while operating under a third-party-certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
