Stone Paper Display Graphics — PVC & PP Film Alternative

Indoor posters, roll-up and stand graphics, brand window displays and exhibition graphics on eco-solvent, latex and wide-format UV inkjet printers. Flexstone lies flat without the orange-peel creasing of low-density pearlised PP film, and replaces PVC where outdoor durability is not required.

Why this application is changing

Wide-format print providers choose between low-density pearlised PP film, PVC film and PET film. Each has a known weakness: pearlised PP creases into an orange-peel texture when bent and absorbs ink poorly; PVC contains chlorine and plasticizers; PET is stiff, needs surface treatment and builds static.

Flexstone is dense and unfoamed, so it stays flat after folding and transport. Its optimised coating gives strong ink adhesion and accurate colour, and it holds its dimensions in heat-curing print processes (no heat rating is published for the S and K roll grades).

Why Flexstone

What Flexstone brings

Flat, crease-free prints
A dense, unfoamed structure removes the orange-peel creasing seen on pearlised PP film (density 0.6–0.75).
Higher print quality
The coating holds ink where pearlised PP lets it spread sideways and mix colours.
No chlorine, no plasticizer
Unlike PVC, there is no plasticizer to migrate and embrittle the film over time, and incineration releases no toxic gas or black smoke.
A paper-like, warm white feel
Suits brands that want a natural aesthetic rather than a plastic surface.
Is Flexstone right for this job?
  1. 1Does the job need a transparent film?
    Yes
Use PET or another clear film — Flexstone is opaque warm white
  2. 2Is a strict fire rating specified?
    Yes
    Use flame-retardant PVC for now
  3. 3Long-term outdoor exposure?
    Yes
Use PVC — Flexstone's outdoor durability is limited
  4. 4Retort, very high temperature or extreme tensile strength?
    Yes
    Use PET
  5. No to all of the above
  6. Flexstone is a good fitIndoor display graphics, brand displays, labels and hang tags, interior decorative films and wallcovering without a special fire rating — wherever flatness, printability, a chlorine-free composition and a paper-like feel matter.Find a grade by print process →

Where Flexstone is not the right choice

  • Outdoor durability is limited compared with PVC; long-term outdoor signage is not a recommended use.
  • Applications with strict fire-safety requirements still call for flame-retardant PVC.
  • Flexstone is warm white and opaque — it does not replace transparent films.
